In April 2026, Bosnia and Herzegovina will host, for the first time, the international professional cycling race Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a major sporting event that will connect Sarajevo, Herzegovina, and the Adriatic coast through three stages. The grand finale of the race is scheduled to take place in Neum, where the final stage and the award ceremony for the inaugural edition will be held.
The race will take place from April 17 to 19, 2026, and is expected to bring together professional cycling teams and competitors from numerous countries around the world. The participation of teams from multiple continents further highlights the international character of the event and its importance in promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a destination for sports and active tourism.
Three Stages Across Bosnia and Herzegovina
The first edition of the race will consist of three stages covering a total of 390 kilometers, with more than 4,400 meters of elevation gain. The route has been carefully designed to showcase the diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s natural landscapes and cultural landmarks to both participants and spectators.
The planned stages are:
-
Sarajevo – Mostar (148 km)
-
Mostar – Ljubuški (122 km)
-
Ljubuški – Neum (118 km)
The final stage will feature an especially attractive finish in Neum, where the three-day competition will conclude and the top cyclists will be awarded.
Promoting Neum Through Sports Tourism
Hosting the final stage in Neum represents an important sporting and promotional opportunity for the municipality. The organization of the final stage and the race finale provides an excellent platform to showcase Neum’s natural beauty, tourist offer, and hospitality to a wide international audience.
A large number of competitors, team staff, organizers, journalists, and visitors are expected to attend the event. For several days, Neum will become the center of an international cycling event, further strengthening its position as a destination for sports and tourism activities.
