If you opt for the new road passing through Stolac, you’ll be welcomed by untouched nature, rolling hills, rocky plateaus, and picturesque rural landscapes radiating authentic Herzegovinian charm. Taking the route through Čapljina and Metković offers a completely different scenery — a fertile, tranquil valley following the flow of the Neretva River. History will greet you here too: the medieval town of Počitelj, the monument to the Herzegovinian uprising in Dračevo, Austro-Hungarian architecture in Metković, and the tower of Norinska all testify to the region’s rich cultural legacy. And then, a series of breathtaking views: the Neretva delta, the scenic Pelješac peninsula and its surrounding islets, and finally, the panoramic arrival in Neum after crossing the majestic Pelješac Bridge.

Neum enjoys long, warm summers and short, mild winters, making it one of the coastal towns with the highest number of sunny days per year. The average sea surface temperature ranges from around 13°C in January to up to 32°C in July and August.
These favorable climate conditions allow not only for swimming and sunbathing during nearly seven months of the year, but also for climate therapy — a healing experience combining clean sea air and relaxing seaside walks.
Neum is perfectly positioned for exploring the region. It is located just 70 km from Dubrovnik, 90 km from Dubrovnik Airport, 70 km from Mostar and Međugorje, and only 30 km from the railway stations in Ploče and Metković.
