The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of Herzegovina-Neretva County has published a Public Call for applications by manufacturers for the production of standardized plates used to indicate the type and category of hospitality facilities.

The aim of the Public Call is to enable the production of standardized plates within Herzegovina-Neretva County for accommodation facilities marked with two and three stars, as well as for facilities whose type and category, depending on the type of facility, are determined by the Ministry or local self-government units within the County.

This measure seeks to make it easier and faster for hospitality providers to begin operating legally, as lawful business activity requires the production and display of a standardized plate. Given that this obligation has so far mostly been fulfilled through authorized manufacturers outside the County, in practice this often meant a longer period before the legal start of business operations.

In the field of accommodation facilities, standardized plates apply to facilities from the group of campsites and other types of hospitality accommodation facilities, including: campsite, campsite resort, camping area and camping rest area; hospitality facilities in households, including: room in a household, apartment in a household, studio apartment in a household, holiday house in a household and campsite in a household; as well as facilities from the hotel group, including: hotel, hotel annex, aparthotel, aparthotel annex, tourist resort, tourist apartments and motel.

Manufacturers operating in Herzegovina-Neretva County are invited to submit their applications and, upon meeting the prescribed conditions, obtain the status of an authorized manufacturer of standardized plates within the County, in order to facilitate and speed up the legal start of business for entities required to mark their facilities with a standardized plate.

The Public Call is open for 30 days from the date of publication on the Ministry’s website.
